Bag-In/Bag-Out Isolation Housings
Our bag in and bag out isolation housings are ideal for the safe control of hazardous airstreams. These housings protect site personnel and the general public by using a proven filtration method. This method is a safe means for the removal and disposal of contaminated filter elements, while maintaining isolation during the installation of clean filter elements. All CTC BIBO isolation housings are fabricated from T304 stainless steel and are pressure tested to exceed industry standards. Our housings can remove particulate, gas, or a combination of both depending on your application. Applications include but are not limited to:
Pharmaceutical Compounding
Biomedical Research Facilities
Hazardous Waste Processing Facilities
Hospital Isolation Rooms
Cancer Research Facilities
Radiological Facilities
Genetic Research Facilities
Asbestos Processing
Government Munitions Facilities

General Specifications:
HOUSING:
The housing shall be a bag in/bag out isolation housing. Construction shall be
14 gauge T304 stainless steel. The housing shall have a minimum operating
pressure of +/- 10 inches of water gauge. The housing will accommodate standard
gasket seal filters.
WELDING:
All pressure boundaries shall be internally seam welded. Welds on flanges or
gasket sealing surfaces shall be ground smooth. Welders and weld procedures will
meet or exceed the intent of applicable sections of ASME BPVC Section IX.
FILTER CLAMING
MECHANISM:
Two LeafLok™ Clamping Mechanisms shall be provided to clamp the primary filter
in place. The clamping mechanisms shall be operated outside the change-out bag.
The access door shall extend over the clamping mechanism operators such that
tampering with the clamping mechanism is not possible without the intent of
changing filters. The clamping mechanism shall exert a spring force to
compensate for any long-term relaxation of the filter gasket.
BAGGING COLLAR:
A bagging collar shall be continuously welded around the access port. This
collar shall have two (2) continuous ribs to aid in holding the bag during the
change-out operation.
CHANGE-OUT BAG:
The change-out bag will be minimum 8 mil transparent PVC, complete with two (2)
clear arm gloves, bungie cord and one (1) reusable safety strap.
HOUSING TEST:
All B1-Series isolation housings shall be pressure tested to meet or exceed the
requirements of ASME N510. Both the housing body and seal face will be tested
using the pressure decay method. B1-Series housing will be tested to a minimum
of 20 inches of water gauge. Test reports are available upon customer request.
HOUSING
INSPECTION AND CLEAN-UP:
All welds shall be chemically cleaned and free of discoloration. Each housing
will be function tested using actual filter elements to verify dimensional
tolerances and clamping mechanism operation. A general dimensional check list
will be completed for all housings. A check list will be kept on file and is
available upon customer request.
FILTERS: (As
specified by customer)
Primary filters-standard gasketed 12" nominal depth HEPA
Adsorber Cells-as Specified from Vendor (CFS)
Prefilters-standard 2" nominal depth prefilter or other
